SCSA Offers Important Webinar on Alzheimer's Disease

According to the Alzheimer's Association, “every 70 seconds someone develops Alzheimer's disease and as many as 5.3 million people live with the memory-destroying illness.” The Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA) acknowledges the rise of this debilitating disease and the need for a better understanding of the illness, its warning signs, and how to work with seniors who have it.

SCSA is offering an informative webinar entitled, Alzheimer’s Disease: Past, Present and Future. This hour long webinar is presented by Dr. Paul Bell, PHD, a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Colorado State University (CSU) and will begin at noon, MST. The webinar is being offered to Certified Senior Advisors (CSA), as additional information for their professional service with seniors, and is available to anybody who desires further information about this important subject and how it may affect them and their families. The comprehensive webinar will cover topics such as:

  • Diagnosis and the progression of Alzheimer’s
  • Risk factors and treating symptoms of Alzheimer’s
  • Typical reactions and important information for caregivers
  • Challenges associated with Alzheimer’s
  • Potential treatment to prevent and delay the onset of Alzheimer’s
  • Implications for professionals in the senior market

The Alzheimer’s webinar is a part of the ongoing information program that SCSA offers to their members every month. It is one of many examples of the commitment that SCSA has towards seniors and the importance of informed professionals with whom they work. ABOUT SCSA. SCSA was established in 1997 to enhance education and standards among professionals working with senior citizens. SCSA’s mission is to educate professionals to work more effectively with their senior clients. We believe that the right kind of planning, recommendations and referrals can make aging a state to be savored instead of a fate to fear. For those who work with seniors, this means understanding the key health, social and financial factors that are important to seniors—and how these factors work together. CSAs are able to integrate this into their professional practices, no matter what field they’re in. They’ve learned how incredibly gratifying it is to help seniors achieve their goals, and the seniors they’ve worked with have learned how important it is to work with someone who truly understands their age-related circumstances.
