CSA Exam Information
Overview
The CSA exam has 150 multiple choice questions, and is closed book and proctored exam. Students are given 3 hours to complete the exam. The CSA exam covers these five areas which are weighted on the exam as follows: (1) Social Aspects of Aging – 20% (2) Health Aspects of Aging: Physical & Mental – 25% (3) Financial and Legal Aspects of Aging – 20% (4) Government Assistance for Seniors – 10% (5) Understanding and Communicating with Seniors – 20%
Testing
Candidates who choose the self-study version of the CSA Course and Exam package, or the CSA Exam only option, take the CSA exam at a professional test center as a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
SCSA has contracted with Schroeder Measurement Technologies (SMT), a testing company, to develop, administer and maintain the CSA examination according to generally accepted and rigorous psychometric standards. Tests and testing centers may also be monitored by IsoQuality Testing (IQT), which is an SMT company.
